How to ask for help when you’re stretched too thin

Guest blog post from Cafe Quill

Have you ever had one of those days where you just want to curl up in a corner of your office and never see another to-do list, ever again, in your whole life? We’re with you—that’s the very definition of being stretched too thin. There are so many demands on all of us, through every minute of our days—from home to work to school and back again—that some days you might find yourself at the breaking point. It’s at that moment when you need help—but how do you get it?

For one thing, it’s key to recognize that you’re not the only one who has been in that situation. Everyone has, and the first step is acknowledging that you do, in fact, need a hand. The benefits might surprise you. You aren’t actually productive when you have too much to do, but when people help you, your productivity might take an upswing. And you’ll build stronger bonds with your co-workers, too.

How else can (and should) you ask for help? This graphic explains it.
