Spectrum.Life furthers growth with new UK partnership, adding 1.7m users with Legal & General

Spectrum Life, the Mental Health, Wellbeing and Digital Health innovator, is proud to announce its partnership with Legal & General Group Protection (Legal & General). This announcement has come at a pivotal time in Spectrum.Life’s growth, having recently raised additional funding of €5 million in early February. The partnership with Legal & General now brings the number of users that Spectrum.Life’s services are available to in Ireland and the UK up to 4 million, a significant milestone for the company.

This partnership aims to further strengthen Legal & General’s "Be Well. Get Better. Be Supported." wellbeing proposition by providing a new digital, integrated wellbeing solution to all existing and new clients, across Group Life Assurance Benefit, Group Income Protection, and Group Critical Illness Cover.

Spectrum.Life’s continued growth and success in the UK, as evidenced by this partnership with Legal & General, has come as the company has set itself apart from other mental health and wellbeing providers through its commitment to the fullness of support across the entire wellbeing journey. The vast majority of existing corporate wellbeing offerings do not provide treatment/support for people's mental health needs until they are in crisis. Spectrum.Life takes a holistic end-to-end approach to support people in advance of, through, and beyond crisis enabling them to not only survive but to successfully thrive.

The new comprehensive wellbeing support can be accessed through a new platform and app. It combines traditional EAP services, such as ‘in the moment’ support to employees and their immediate family, 24/7, 365 days a year. This includes access to counsellors (including bereavement counselling), legal and financial information support, a medical helpline, manager consultations, and critical incident support.

Commenting on the partnership, Stephen Costello, CEO and co-founder of Spectrum.Life, said, "We are delighted to partner with Legal & General Group Protection to bring our clients a new digital, integrated wellbeing solution. Our aim has always been to empower as many individuals as possible to take control of their wellbeing, and this partnership is another significant step towards achieving this goal. We are committed to providing the highest level of support to our clients, and we believe that our offering will continue to develop and grow and have a positive impact on the lives of millions of people across the United Kingdom and Ireland."

Spectrum.Life is designed to help employers support the mental, physical, and financial wellbeing of their employees. By offering a comprehensive range of wellbeing services, including counselling, financial advice, and medical support, Spectrum.Life enables employees to take control of their wellbeing, improve their quality of life, and be more productive at work.

Spectrum.Life’s digital, integrated wellbeing solution offers services and supports beyond the standard EAP solution employed by many organisations such as;

Digital gym – live and on-demand fitness classes – and physical wellbeing pathways, including pre-created workout programmes, hundreds of exercises and tracking metrics, saving employees money on gym memberships.

  • Self-guided mindfulness and meditation.

  • Nutritional wellbeing pathways, including recipes.

  • Mental health eLearning – clinician-led content on mental health, depression, anxiety, sleep, financial wellbeing, parenting and more, through a combination of video, blogs, podcasts, webinars and articles.

James Walker, Head of Product and Proposition, Legal & General Group Protection has also commented on the partnership saying; “We are enhancing our group protection proposition with today’s announcement of this exciting product enhancement, which we believe takes the EAP concept to the next level. Our overriding goal is to help thinking in the market with regards to removing fragmentation and unnecessary complexity in wellbeing across all our products and, in doing so, put wellbeing in the hands of as many employees as possible.

“Our new partnership with Spectrum.Life is directly aligned with that goal, helping bring together all the pillars of wellbeing in the one place, plugging everything into both our expert in-house clinical support and existing services where appropriate, such as Virtual Clinic, launched last year as part of Group Income Protection.

“Through simplification and connectivity, we hope to encourage day-to-day usage – in a preventative and proactive way – thereby helping realise value for both people and business.”
