Adding spices to our food not only enhances the flavour but can also add many beneficial medicinal properties.
Here are 4 of my favourite spices to use in food.

Turmeric has been considered to be " Skin Food" for thousands of years in India and other Asian cultures
- Fenugreek. It's a warming spice, and contributes to the bitter, pungent and sweet tastes. In Ayurveda, it is used to enhance digestion and prevent stomach disorders. It is also good for the skin and hair.
Cinnamon – This spice is made from the dried and rolled bark of the tree. Cinnamon can be added to food to enhance the aroma of meat and fish dishes. It is also a great spice to use to treat appetite loss and indigestion. The essential oil of cinnamon leaf has significant antioxidant, antibacterial and antifungal properties.
Cumin. A wonderful ingredient for curry powder. It is better when it is freshly ground. Medicinally it is good to support the urinary system. It stimulates the appetite and supports indigestion. In Ayurvedic medicine, cumin seeds are boiled in water and the tea is used to treat gastric problems.
